For the projects: Must bring a picture of you and your family as well as a picture of a house. You must have a 20 sentence script written on a sheet of paper  (10 sentences per picture) as well as your prepared index card. Each sentence must include a conjugation of the verbs ser, tener, or hay AND utilize chapter 2 vocabulary :).  FOR THE TEST: There are 10 verbal , multiples choice questions. 17 multiple choice questions about possessions (mi, su, etc.), conjugations of the verb tener, the reading about "mascotas", and vocabulary (fill in the blank). 5 yes/no questions.  Good luck; study hard! Y'all are super smart :). I can't wait to hear your presentations or see you do great on the test!

Clase: 1st and 6th periods: Take Chapter 1 Test // 7th period: No bellwork, we started the test, but then had a tornado drill and a lock down drill. We'll do the bellwork and finish up the test Monday.

TDT: p. 46 (part 4, 15-18) AND p. 47 (part 6, 26-34)

Clase: We reviewed the conjugations of the verb ser (soy=I am, eres=you (informal) are, es=(s)he is/you (formal) are, somos=we are, son=they/y'all are), then reviewed some words from the readings yesterday that will be on your test (tomorrow). Copy these in your cuaderno: hispanohablantes (Spanish-speakers), hay (there is/there are), gente (people), ascendencia (background), frontera (border), ahora (now). In 6th and 7th periods, we made a chart to compare Don Quijote and Sancho Panza, and then did activity 11 on p. 36 as a class (vebally, you don't have to write anything). 

Wednesday, September 28, 2016: 

TDT: p. 24, activity 4. Chose words from the box to describe Eduardo (in the pictures).

Clase: We added to our notes a little bit about "Number and Gender Agreement" from yesterday. Then, we read p. 42 about Spanish speakers in the U.S.A. and talked about how the majority are from Mexico. In Florida, however, we have a  majority of Cuban-Americans. In 1st and 7th periods, we also read and talked about El Quijote on p. 44. It is a famous novel written in Spain in the 1700s. The main charachter is Don Quijote and is tall, skinny, honest and generous. His sidekick is Sancho Panza. He is short, fat, and Don Quijote thinks he is lazy. Sancho thinks Don Quijote is foolish though, and they have many adventures together. I recommended the students do pages 46 and 47 from their textbook before Friday in order to review for their test.

TDT: p. 24, act. 1 (1-6) In class, this is a verbal activity. I read aloud the following statements and the students had to decide which person I was talking about: 

1. Él es cómico.

2. Ella es alta.

3. Él es pelirrojo.

4. Ella es seria.

6. Ella es baja.

Clase: Notes on "Number and Gender Agreement" Please copy these from a friend ASAP. You will have a test on this chapter Friday.

Clase: We made "map puzzles" using blank maps of Spanish-speaking countries and pieces of paper. Be sure to get one from me in class! Also, if needed (those with extended absenses), please email me so that I can email you a blank map to print and work on. We also finished copying the vocabulary from chapter one (It's on p. 51 in the textbook and you can translate the words using the Spanish-English dictionary in the back of the book... or get the notes from someone in class ;)).
